A U.S. Air Force Combat Control trainee assigned to Operating Location C, 342nd Training Squadron, is evaluated by two CCT instructors while fast-roping from a training tower, Feb. 13, 2015 at Pope Army Airfield, North Carolina. Students have to complete several phases of fast-rope training while being heavily evaluated before fast-roping from helicopters and other aircraft. Fast-roping allows Airmen and other military members to respond to crises as a quick reaction force, conduct missions requiring stealth tactics and board vessels while at sea. Change of Command
EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Colonel J. Greg Riemens-Van Laare took command of the 33d Fighter Wing's Operations Group April 24 during a change of command ceremony in the 33d Maintenance Operations Squadron Hangar. Colonel Riemens-Van Laare was the Chief of Wing Safety at the 45th Space Wing, Patrick AFB, Fla. As commander of the 33d OG , he is responsible for the activities of two F-15C/D fighter squadrons, one operations support squadron, and one air control squadron.
