    Lt. Gen. Brad Webb, commander of Air Education and Training Command, visited the 33rd Fighter Wing at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, April 7, 2021. Webb visited the 33rd FW to meet with the Airmen who make the mission happen, discuss community initiatives and support to local programs with civic leaders, and learn about the Nomads’ focused efforts on rated diversity improvement.

    The U.S. Air Force prioritizes diversity and inclusion within the force to stay competitive and strong. Diversifying the service allows for a variety of different perspectives and experiences to be used to drive the total force forward. The 33rd Fighter Wing took an active role in the Air Force’s effort to expose youth to both aviation and other rated career fields.

  • A Look Back: 30th Anniversary Operation Desert Storm

    In early August 1990, Iraq invaded Kuwait to annex its rich oil reserves and offset Iraq’s growing debt from the Iraq-Iran war. President George H.W. Bush immediately ordered ground, sea and air forces to Southwest Asia as part of a multinational coalition to persuade Saddam Hussein to withdraw from Kuwait, an operation known as Desert Shield.
