Recycling programs pay off.
Recycling - On average, AETC bases spend about $200 per ton of trash picked up from dumpsters on base and placed in landfills. Bases do pay for recycling to be picked up and processed, but they get paid back for the recycling material. Some bases are actually making money on their recycling programs.
