    At what point in time did you realize your calling in life? Can you pinpoint a specific moment when you decided the goal you would dedicate yourself to? For Lt. Col. Christine Mau, 33rd Operations Group deputy commander and only female F-35 pilot, that moment came when she was five years old. Her family had just moved to California, near El Toro Marine Corps Air Station.

    F-35As and F-35Cs from the 33rd Fighter Wing and Strike Fighter Squadron 101 conduct sorties Feb. 27 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Pilots and maintainers are trained to use the world’s most advanced multi-role fighter at Eglin.

    The 33rd Fighter Wing loaded and released the Air Education and Training Command’s first live bombs from an F-35A here, Jan. 17, 2017. In total, six aircraft were loaded with armed GBU-12s, and two bombs were released over the Eglin Air Force Base range.

A date that summarizes the founding values of a national identity long pursued by the Italian people. A day in which the Armed Forces and the Italian people remember the fallen of all the wars that contributed, up to the last extreme sacrifice, to freedom and democracy for the future of the Italian Republic.
