Search and Rescue: Nomad Lightning

A U.S. Coast Guard medevac rescue litter is covered in sea dye marker aboard the 45-foot response boat medium during a joint force exercise Nomad Lightning in the Gulf of Mexico, at the Eglin Aquatic Test and raining Range, May 5, 2022. Our Airmen and pilots integrated into a joint rescue exercise with the U.S. Coast Guard, where personnel rehearsed a search and rescue procedure for a downed pilot offshore. Sea dye marker is a life-saving device that uses its fluorescent green color to attract the attention of rescue aircraft. (U.S. Air Force Photo by Airman 1st Class Leandra Garcia)
