Pfc. Charles George

Pfc. Charles George is the most recent Native American to receive the Medal of Honor after throwing himself on a grenade to save other members of his unit during the Korean War. The Charles George Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Asheville, North Carolina, is named in his honor. He was a member of the Cherokee tribe. (Courtesy Photo)
