3 new F-35As arrive at Eglin AFB

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Staff Sgt. Danny Pereira, 33rd Fighter Wing crew chief, conducts one of the post flight shut downs of three newly arrived F-35A Lightning IIs with pilot Lt. Col. Eric Smith, 58th Fighter Squadron. The wing now has 16 F-35s with the A and B variants combined after today's arrivals. Increasing the fleet continues to increase the ability to qualify additional Air Force and Marine Corps initial cadre as instructor pilots. The F-35 Integrated Training Center at Eglin is preparing for full rate F-35 pilot training for Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and international pilots in the coming year.
