SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Sheppard Air Force Base provided 19 firefighters and eight trucks to help battle wildfires near the base April 15. By deploying "crash" trucks from the airfield, the Sheppard crews were able to put water on the fires quickly and get the fires under control. Three homes were destroyed, including the home of a Sheppard Airman, but no one was hurt and officials say the damage could have been much worse without Sheppard's assistance. (Courtesy photo)
