Cryogenics course

A pipe frosts over as Staff Sgt. Richard Hill, an advanced cryogenics course student from Barksdale Air Force Base, La., controls the valves during a training session at Sheppard AFB, Texas, July 26. Liquid nitrogen is used to train Airmen how to fill liquid oxygen carts because the substance is less volatile than liquid oxygen. Liquid oxygen is used to provide oxygen to pilots and aircrews at altitudes above 10,000 feet. (U.S. Air Force photo by John Ingle)
