A teddy bear and a get-well message from an elementary student is placed in each hospital room, welcoming wounded servicemembers from overseas that will pass through the 59th Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. The CASF will provide medical care and comfort while patients wait for their next flight to a treatment facility near their family. The average patient stay will be 12-72 hours.
