KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. – Helicopters hover over Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. The 58th Special Operations Wing conducts follow-on training for special operations aircrew on Kirtland AFB. The wing operates three types of helicopters, three specialized versions of the C-130, and the CV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft. The wing trains officers and enlisted personnel in 18 crew positions to become fully qualified aircrews in special operations flying, combat search and rescue, and operations support.
