AETC Services Holiday Designated Driver campaign kicks off

  • Published
Headquarters Air Education and Training Command Services is once again taking additional steps to ensure AETC club goers have a safe way home.

The 2005 Holiday Designated Driver - "Leave the Driving to Us" program is designed to support existing local designated driver club programs and runs Nov. 21 to Jan. 3.

"AETC clubs are the right place to be this holiday season and we want to ensure a safe ride home to our event participants," said Mr. Robert Carlberg, AETC Services Programs chief.

"This program helps show appreciation to our current club members," said Steve Cowan, AETC Services. "It also provides incentives to support Air Force and existing local policies and practices for the designated driver programs which provide additional alternatives for a safe ride home during the holiday season."

According to Mr. Cowan, current AETC club members identified as holiday designated drivers will receive an entry form to enter weekly local prize drawing. In January, each officer, enlisted and collocated club lounge operation will also hold a grand prize drawing from these entries.

AETC club members do not have to make a purchase to obtain an entry form but must be identified as a holiday designated driver according to local operating procedures. They will receive one entry form every time they are identified as a Holiday Designated Driver - "Leave the Driving to Us" participant.

This year's grand prizes include a $264 voucher for a one-week stay at a resort location of the winner's choice through the Armed Forces Vacation Club or, where authorized, a $250 Services Bucks voucher for redemption at any Services facility at the winner's base of assignment.
