Dr. Michael Ripley removes a cyst from a patient’s back while serving as a civilian doctor at Baghdad International Airport in 2005. Dr. Ripley, 51, joins the active-duty Air Force in March to which he will contribute extensive experience in deployed medicine and leadership skills.
