Twenty-five Air Force recruits swore into the Delayed Enlistment Program in front of a crowd of 26,500 Chicago Bulls fans here at the United Center Arena March 28.

The DEP oath was administered by Lt. Col. Mark Formica, 347th Recruiting Squadron commander, as part of a partnership with the Chicago Bulls during the 2010-2011 National Basketball Association season.

The 347th RCS also had five members honored as an Honorary Captain of the Game over a five-game period. Each member was announced as the Honorary Captain of the Game during an on-camera presentation and participated in the captain's pre-game center court meeting.

"In partaking in this event, it just added to the many great things that have already been done in the ways of advertising for the Air Force," said Capt. Joseph Bennett, 347th Operations Flight commander. "The Honorary Captain of the Game event spotlights the Air Force to a more diverse audience. In doing this, we now have points of contacts within the organization to continue this type of advertising throughout the year. It was truly an honor to be a part of the event."

Participation in these events has netted the squadron more than 100 leads and the area recruiters are still making contact with perspective applicants who saw local recruiters at the games. Four fans were inspired by the Air Force message and have qualified for enlistment. A growing number of others are working towards the same goal.
