Norman 97th Air Mobility Wing Rodeo Public Affairs JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. -- The 2011 Air Mobility Command Rodeo Team from Altus Air Force Base, Okla., earned the title of "Best Air Mobility Wing" July 29 during the closing ceremony. The "Best Air Mobility Wing" award is only one of the ten trophies Team Altus wrangled during the competition but is given to the overall champion. The other awards won by Altus AFB include: · Best Aerial Refueling Team -- 97th Air Mobility Wing, Altus AFB (Receiver) and 92nd Air Refueling, Fairchild AFB, Wash. · Best C-17 Wing · Best KC-135 Wing · Best Tanker Wing · Best Airdrop Wing · Best C-17 Air-To-Air Refueling Team · Best C-17 Short Field Landing Team · Best C-17 Aircrew Accompanying Team Altus during the AMC Rodeo were a few Civic Leaders from the City of Altus. "I think Altus did fantastic," said Holley Urbanski, City of Altus Chamber of Commerce president. "This has been an experience of a lifetime seeing all the different competitions going on during this Rodeo week." Throughout the week the Civic Leaders attended many of the various Rodeo events and helped cheer on Team Altus. "I enjoyed being with the team members, seeing what they were doing, listening to them talk about rodeo and watching the interactions between us and the other teams that were here - it has been a real experience," Urbanski said.
