WWII Nurse
Col. Yolanda Bledsoe, 56th Medical Group commander, presents 98-year-old retired Maj. Anna “Det” Dorsey a flag during a ceremony Oct. 27 at Freedom Inn in Sun City West. The flag was flown over the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor in her honor. When the United States entered World War II, Dorsey was one of the fewer than 1,000 nurses in the U.S. Army.
