1st Lt Rob Hansen, 80th Flying Training Wing graduate pilot, Euro NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program, Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, beat a bout of Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer during training, graduate and get awarded the F-22 Raptor. He spent 16 months fighting to get back in the program after his diagnosis. Upon graduation, he was awarded as a distinguished graduate for scoring in the top 10 percent of the class; the Daedalian Award for top formation pilot; the Flying Excellence award for the top overall flying score, and the Commander’s Trophy for being the top graduate.
