The new face of the Nomad: newsletter moves to cyberspace Monday Published Jan. 5, 2007 By 33d Fighter Wing Public Affairs EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The Nomad newsletter as we know it is about change its colors, making the move to cyberspace. Starting Monday, coverage of 33d Fighter Wing events and personnel will be featured on the wing homepage at http://www.33fw.acc.af.mil. The Nomad will no longer be e-mailed as a newsletter product to 33d FW personnel, ending the newsletter's 28-year existence as the wing's source of information. Wing events and personnel will continue to be covered by the public affairs office, but web-based publishing will allow stories and photos of 33d FW events out to the wing, the Air Force and the community more rapidly. Once the move to a web-based format is made, 33d FW personnel will receive regular e-mails with news updates and story links. Those messages can be easily forwarded to families' and friends' home e-mail accounts as coverage of the wing will be posted to the public web. Previously, the Nomad was published biweekly with some coverage happening more than two weeks after the event had occurred. Utilizing the wing's web site will allow stories and photos to be posted much more quickly, making the latest information available to the wing. The Nomad dates back to 1978 when it was called the "33d Tactical Fighter Wing Newsletter." During the early 1980's, it was known as the "Wing Newsletter," and officially adopted the Nomad name in 1982.
