Nomads with the 58th Fighter Squadron, 33rd Fighter Wing will visit Volk Field Air National Guard Base, Wisconsin, July 29-Aug. 26, to conduct training and participate in exercise Northern Lightning.

Volk Field offers open airspace with optimal weather conditions for flying, allowing the 33rd FW to avoid over 60% of seasonal lightning and hurricane delays in Florida and focus on enhancing the Agile Combat Employment concept.

The ACE concept focuses on rapid mobility, laying the foundation for Airmen to fill multiple roles and make decisions efficiently in any environment.

During their time at Volk Field, Nomads will integrate with 4th- and 5th-generation assets from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Air National Guard during exercise Northern Lightning, Aug. 8-19, a joint training exercise emphasizing user-defined objectives resulting in tailored, scenario-based, full-spectrum, high-end training.
