Holloman AFB names Chief's Choice December Award winner

HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. --

Holloman’s Chiefs Group has a monthly recognition program titled Chief’s Choice Award. Every month, a chief has the honor of choosing a deserving Airman for an outstanding act or for continuous outstanding performance.

For the month of December, the chiefs are proud to present the Chief’s Choice Award to Airman 1st Class Emily H. Pizzello, 49th Contracting Squadron contract administrator.

Chief Master Sgt. Eric Lorow, 49th Mission Support Group superintendent, selected Pizzello for her outstanding commitment to her job and technical expertise.

Q1. What Squadron are you a part of, what is your job title and what are your duties?

I am a part of the 49th CONS. My job title is contract specialist. My current duties include purchasing, maintaining, creating and modifying services contracts for Holloman AFB through market research, solicitation, evaluation and execution.

Q2. How long have you been in the Air Force?

I have been in the Air Force for over a year-and-a-half, since May 2018.

Q3. How long have you been at Holloman?

I have been at Holloman AFB since September 2018.

Q4. Where is your home town?

Simpsonville, South Carolina.

Q5. What are your personal mottos?

My personal mottos are to “take pride in what you do” and to “do your best with what you have.”

Q6. Name two of your long-term goals

Two of my long-term goals are to graduate with my Bachelor’s degree and to travel to all seven continents, by the end of this decade.

Q7. What are your off-duty interests and hobbies?

My interests/hobbies include playing roller derby with Alamogordo’s Roller Derby team, traveling with my husband, playing guitar, taking pictures and enjoying and creating delicious food.

Q8. Who or what are your inspirations?

My husband and my parents inspire me daily through their hard work, strength and perseverance.
