Chief Master Sergeant Joshua D. Haberkorn

Chief Master Sergeant Joshua D. Haberkorn is the Command Chief, 33d Fighter Wing, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. He leads the enlisted force and is the principal advisor to the commander on all matters impacting the combat readiness, mission effectiveness, professional development, training, utilization, health, morale and welfare. He provides leadership to over 1,500 military, civilian and contractor personnel in support of the F-35 Lightning II for the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and seven coalition partners, training graduate pilots, air battle managers and intelligence personnel to utilize this fifth-generation weapon system. The 33d Fighter Wing “Nomads,” is a graduate flying and maintenance training wing with two geographically separated organizations, the 337th Air Control Squadron, which provides the Air Force’s only Air Battle Manager training at Tyndall AFB and the 85th Fighter Group, an F-35 International Training Facility at Ebbing ANGB, Arkansas. Chief Haberkorn entered the Air Force in October 2002. He graduated from the Security Forces apprentice course at Lackland AFB, Texas, in February 2003. His background includes various security and law enforcement duties at the unit and wing levels. Throughout his career, he has filled a myriad of roles which include Group Superintendent, Squadron Superintendent, First Sergeant, Air Advisor, Flight Chief, Antiterrorism Manager, Criminal Investigator, Prime Nuclear Airlift Force Supervisor, Expeditionary Squad Leader, Patrolman and Installation Entry Controller. His assignments include bases in South Korea, Japan, Germany, The Netherlands, Utah and Florida. Sergeant Haberkorn has also deployed in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, CAPER FOCUS, FREEDOM’s SENTINEL and the Resolute Support Mission. Prior to assuming his current position, he served as Senior Enlisted Leader, 6th Mission Support Group, MacDill AFB, Florida.
