Lieutenant Colonel Allan P. Thilmany is currently the Commander, 1st Flying Training Squadron, 306 Flying Training Group, 19th Air Force, Air Education and Training Command. The 1st Flying Training Squadron mission is to screen Air Force Aviator candidates for entry into Undergraduate Flight Training as well as developing outstanding officers through the application of positive life habit patterns and the Air Force Core Values.

Lt. Col. Thilmany is currently qualified as an evaluator pilot in the DA-20 aircraft. He graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1992 with a Bachelor Degree in History. He also holds a Masters of Aeronautical Science from the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
