Chief Master Sergeant William Shane Rose is the Command Chief Master Sergeant, 33d Fighter Wing, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. He provides enlisted leadership to over 1,500 military, civilian and contractor personnel in support of the F-35 Lightning II for the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and eight coalition partners, training graduate pilots, air battle managers and intelligence personnel to utilize this fifth generation weapons system. The command chief is the principal advisor to the commander on all enlisted matters to include mission effectiveness, professional development, military readiness, training, utilization, health, morale and welfare.
 
Chief Rose enlisted in the Air Force in 1993 as a Communications Cable & Antenna Systems technician. He has deployed with the Army in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and as the 438th Air Expeditionary Advisory Group Superintendent, supporting Operation FREEDOM’S SENTINEL and NATO’s Resolute Support mission.  He has served in special duty positions as a Cable & Antenna Special Maintenance Team member, Military Training Instructor, Major Command Inspector General Inspector and Manager, Career Field Manager & Chief Enlisted Manager of the USAF Honor Guard, and as an Advanced Air Advisor.
 
Prior to his current position, Chief Rose served as the Superintendent of the 633d Mission Support Group, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, VA
